Sinhala and Hindu New year



The Sinhala and Hindu New year has a special food.It is milk rice.
The milk rice is made with and coconut milk or cow's milk.Most people in Sri Lanka love milk rice.People eat milk rice with different things.Some make a spicy onion-chillie sambal Others eat it with treacle or juggery.

People make a lot of traditional sweets for the new year.Some of them are kewum,kokis.athiraha,and asmee.Bananas are a must on the new year table.

EasterEaster too has its special foods.Easter eggs and Easter bunnies are very popular with children.Easter eggs made out of chocolate and butter cream.The out side is hard and is often painted.You can buy one easter egg,several eggsor box of easter eggs.They are good and presents.Easter eggs and Easter bunnies tell us about spring.Tey mean new life.
